Notes:

  • The width of the confidence intervals for the number insured and the number uninsured are the same. This follows from the fact that the two numbers must add to a known population. A random deviation in one must thus be mirrored exactly in the other, so a measure of variability like the standard deviation must be the same.
  • Due to rounding, the sum of the state estimates may not equal the national estimate from the Annual Social and Economic Supplement of the Current Population Survey.
