What:
The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a news
conference to discuss and demonstrate handheld computers now being
used by census workers in the 2004 Census Test, underway in Colquitt,
Thomas and Tift counties in Georgia. During the test, census workers
will use handheld computers instead of clipboards and pencils, to
collect information from respondents at households not returning
their questionnaires by mail.
