MEDIA ADVISORY -- U.S. Census Bureau Replaces Clipboards With Handheld Computers in Southwest Georgia Census Test
Public Information Office
The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a news conference to discuss and demonstrate handheld computers now being used by census workers in the 2004 Census Test, underway in Colquitt, Thomas and Tift counties in Georgia. During the test, census workers will use handheld computers instead of clipboards and pencils, to collect information from respondents at households not returning their questionnaires by mail.
