FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TUESDAY, JANUARY 23, 1996 Public Information Office CB96-03 301-457-3030 301-457-4067 (TDD) Jorge Garcia-Pratts 301-763-8561 CENSUS BUREAU ANNOUNCES NEW AGRICULTURAL ATLAS Finding the nation's most prominent areas of agricultural growth, production, farms, and other subjects will be easier with the newest "Agricultural Atlas of the United States." Based on the 1992 Census of Agriculture, the atlas presents over 300 maps that show state-by-state and county-by-county information ranging from number of farms and market value of agricultural products sold to total cropland acreage and livestock inventories. The report is being released by the Commerce Department's Bureau of the Census. The "Agricultural Atlas of the United States" (AC92-S-1) is produced after each agriculture census, which takes place every five years.
