Census Bureau to Brief Reporters on
Local Census 2000 Supplementary Survey Results

What: The Census Bureau's Charlotte, N.C., Regional Office will brief

cities and counties of 250,000 population or more. These data,
including those for the Charleston, S.C., Metropolitan Statistical
Area, will illustrate characteristics, such as education, language
spoken at home, household income, poverty and travel time to work.
The 700,000-household survey was conducted simultaneously with
last year's census and was designed to test the operational
feasibility of collecting long form-type data independently of a
        decennial census.
