Ralph J. Lee has been regional director of the Census Bureau's Seattle region since April 2002. Prior to assuming the Seattle regional director position, Mr. Lee was the regional director of the Los Angeles region from 2000 to 2002. Mr. Lee has worked for the Census Bureau for fourteen years, holding various positions at Census Bureau headquarters in Washington, D.C. and the Seattle region, including assistant regional director.As regional director, Mr. Lee provides executive leadership for data collection and data dissemination activities for the Seattle region. The Seattle region encompasses Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and northern California. The Seattle Regional office is one of the Census Bureau’s 12 field offices. Mr. Lee has overall responsibility for 50 office and over 500 field staff.
Mr. Lee received a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of Washington and a M.S. degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University.
