CAROL M. VAN HORN

Carol M. Van Horn is the Assistant Director for Decennial Census and the American Community Survey at the U.S. Census Bureau. She provides leadership for all 2010 Census and American Community Survey Programs. During Census 2000 Ms. Van Horn was the Assistant Director for Field Operations and was directly responsible for managing the day-to-day field activities of the Nation=s largest peace time operation.
She has also served as Chief, Geography Division, directing the planning, coordination, and administration of all geographic and cartographic activities needed to facilitate the Census Bureau=s statistical programs throughout the U.S. and its territories.
From 1993 to 1997 Ms. Van Horn was Director of Recruitment for the United States Peace Corps where she planned and implemented programs and strategies to recruit and evaluate all Peace Corps volunteers.
Among her awards are the Gold Medal for Leadership and Management of Census 2000 Operations, the Hammer Award for Peace Corps Internet Recruiting, and the Census Bureau=s Bronze Medal.
Ms. Van Horn received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Regis College in Weston,
Massachusetts.
