             PSA Campaign on Census 2000 Confidentiality 
              To Be Highlighted In News Conference
                                        
   Census Bureau Director Kenneth Prewitt will hold a news conference to
announce a Census 2000 campaign on confidentiality and to premiere public
service announcements made in conjunction with Major League Baseball and
its Players' Association. The news conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
EST, Monday (Feb. 14) at the National Press Club.

   Prewitt will be joined by Terry Dukes, executive vice president of
Young & Rubicam, the Census Bureau's main advertising contractor. The news
conference will provide details behind a White House announcement
made earlier in the day.

   Posters for the confidentiality program also will be unveiled.
