                  **CENSUS BUREAU MEDIA ADVISORY**

Census Bureau to Brief Reporters on
Local Census 2000 Supplementary Survey Results

What: The Census Bureau's Boston Regional Office will brief media on new

700,000-household survey was conducted simultaneously with last
year's census and was designed to test the operational feasibility
of collecting long form-type data independently of a decennial
        census.

When: Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 2:30 p.m. EST

Who: Arthur G. Dukakis, Boston regional director
Preston Jay Waite, Associate Director for Decennial Census,
        U.S. Census Bureau
