Nation’s Oldest City Now Part of One of the Fastest-Growing Areas,
Census Bureau Reports

Flagler and St. Johns Among Nation’s Fastest-Growing Counties

   
What: The U.S. Census Bureau will hold a news conference to release its new county population estimates, showing that Flagler County, Fla., was the fastest-growing county in the nation last year. Neighboring St. Johns County, home to America’s oldest city (St. Augustine), was also ranked among the top ten fastest-growing counties. Florida contains more of the 100 fastest-growing counties than any other state. The estimates rank the 3,141 counties (and county equivalents) by their population change between July 1, 2003, and July 1, 2004.
