The profile universe is limited to the household population and excludes the population living in institutions, college dormitories, and other group quarters. The group quarters population was removed from the Census 2000 Sample profile data since the ACS did not include samples of this population. Data are based on a sample and are subject to sampling variability.

Notes

The statistical significance test is conducted at the 90% confidence level, the Census Bureau Standard for testing.

Because each individual ACS and Census estimate was rounded independently (generally to the nearest unit for ACS estimates, and to the nearest five or 10 for Census estimates), estimates may not be additive. All statistical significance testing was done using unrounded values. Note that the use of rounded data may give different results.

The number of householders does not necessarily equal the number of households because of differences in the weighting schemes for the population and occupied housing units.

1. An '*' entry in the Margin of Error of Difference column indicates that too few sample observations were available to compute a standard error . Therefore, the Margin of Error of Difference can not be computed. A statistical test is not appropriate.

2. An '**' entry in the Margin of Error of Difference column indicates that the standard error of one or both estimates can not be computed. Therefore, the Margin of Error of Difference can not be computed. In this case, an '-' entry is placed in the Difference column. A statistical test is not appropriate.

3. An '-' entry in an Estimate or Percent Distribution column indicates that no sample observations were available to compute an estimate, or its associated standard error was assigned a value of '**'.

4. An '-' following a median estimate means the median falls in the lowest interval of an open-ended distribution.

5. An '+' following a median estimate means the median falls in the upper interval of an open-ended distribution.

6. An '***' entry in the Margin of Error of Difference column indicates that the median falls in the lowest interval or upper interval of an open-ended distribution. In this case, an '---' entry is placed in the Difference column. A statistical test is not appropriate.

7. An '*****' entry in the Margin of Error of Difference column indicates that both Census and ACS 3-year average estimates are controlled. A statistical test is not appropriate.

8. There is an '--' entry in the Statistically Significant column when the Margin of Error of Difference is set to '*', '**', '***', or '*****'.

9. An 'N' entry in an Estimate, Percent Distribution, Difference , and/or Margin of Error of Difference columns indicates that data for this geographic area cannot be displayed because the number of sample cases is too small.

10. An '(NA)' entry in the Percent Distribution, Difference, Margin of Error of Difference, and/or Statistically Significant columns indicates that a test or calculation was not done or was inappropriate.
