Three reports based on data from the March 1999 Current Population Survey are now available on the Bureau's web site:
The first report, Geographical Mobility: March 1990 to March 1995, provides tabulations on rates of moving and the characteristics of movers and nonmovers by type of move.
Detailed tables for this report and historical data on geographic mobility are available.
In the second report, detailed tables on The Black Population in the United States: March 1999 provide statistics on the social, demographic and economic characteristics of the African-American population and cover topics such as geographic distribution, age and sex distribution, family type and size, educational attainment, labor force participation and unemployment, occupation, income and poverty status. Data are presented for the United States.
The third report, The Older Population in the United States: March 1999 presents selected social and economic characteristics of the population aged 55 years and older in the United States. These characteristics, which are shown by age and sex, include race and Hispanic origin, marital status, educational attainment, labor force status, income and poverty status.
Based on findings from the 1995 Survey of Income and Program Participation, Who's Minding The Kids? Child Care Arrangements: Fall 1995 examines the number and characteristics of children in different child care arrangements and the characteristics of their families. While past reports presented information solely on the primary child care arrangements of employed mothers, this report provides new information on child care arrangements while the parent is not at work or in school. Also new to this report is information on the specific types of arrangements such as self care, Head Start and enrichment activities.
