Industry Series data are preliminary and are subject to change; they will be superseded by data released in later reports.

Notice to manufacturing industry series data users: We have revised and reissued previously released capital expenditures related data. We determined that the method used to impute missing capital expenditures overstated total manufacturing capital expenditures by $18.1 billion or 12.5 percent and asset retirements by $5.8 billion or 6.8 percent; total ending assets and total depreciation were overstated by less than 1 percent. To adjust for the overstatement, assets, retirements, capital expenditures, and depreciation were reimputed. Revised data have been reissued in format and in See the explanation of changes in capital expenditures related data for more information.
