Guide to the
2002 Economic Census
Maps for Island Areas
Three types of maps are issued in connection with the 2002
Economic Census:
- State maps. For each island area, these maps show outlines
of county-equivalents and, in Puerto Rico, core based statistical areas, i.e.,
metropolitan statistical areas, micropolitan statistical areas, metropolitan
divisions, and combined statistical areas.
- County maps. For each county, these maps show the places
within the subject county.
- Metro area maps. For each combined statistical area and
for each metro or micro area outside of a combined area, these maps show the
outlines of the covered 2002 metro and micro area(s) over color coded metro
areas as defined for the 1997 Economic Census to highlight areas where metro
areas in the two years may not be comparable. (The links below provide duplicate
links for metro areas with metropolitan divisions and for entities inside
consolidated areas--picking any of the applicable names will take you to the
right map.)
