Business & Industry Data

The Census Bureau provides a wide variety of useful data for businesses and industries.

  • Business and Industry Page - Contains all of the economic data collected by the Census Bureau. You can view an overview of each economic program and download economic data collected by geography or by survey. You can also use the Industry Search to look for data by Industry name or NAICS code.
  • 2007 Economic Census - Provides data that was collected from the last economic census. The page includes a User Guide, Data Release schedule, FAQ's and acess to American Factfinder; where all of the data reside for download.
  • Survey of Business Owners - Provides data on economic and demographic characteristics for businesses and business owners by gender, ethnicity, race, and veteran status.
  • County Business Patterns - Offers data useful for studying the economic activity of small areas; analyzing economic changes over time; and as a benchmark for statistical series, surveys, and databases between economic censuses.
  • Nonemployer Statistics - An annual series of information about businesses without paid employees (employees subject to federal income tax).
