Most Forms to be Mailed December 9 to 16
The main event is upon us.
On December 9, about 1.8 million Economic Census forms will be mailed to 200,000 companies with multiple locations. Then, one week later, another 2 million forms will be mailed to single-location companies. Thus, by the time most business owners return from the holidays, census forms should be on their desks.
Theme Change Coming for January
Our main theme through December has been "watch for the form". By January the emphasis will change to getting the form filled out. The website now features a separate section for January publicity, including PSAs that urge businesses to complete the forms they should have received by then. A new theme is being added--"Easier, faster, smarter - online"--that draws the reader's attention to the availability of our online Business HelpSite (www.census.gov/econhelp.htm), which answers may business questions and offers electronic reporting as an option.
Radio PSAs Now Available
This website now provides access to prerecorded 30-second audio PSAs featuring well known spokespersons, from Alan Greenspan to Louis Rukeyser. Three of the messages are available in both English and Spanish. The PSAs are being mailed on CD to many radio stations, but broadcast-quality .mp3 files can also be downloaded from this site. If you just want to listen, faster-downloading .rm files are also presented.
