The census covers establishments primarily engaged in contract construction or construction on their own account for sale. =>SUBJECT-MATTER DESCRIPTION This series of ten files provides the: number of establishments number of employees payroll value of construction work done assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation value of inventories value of construction work by location value of business done by kind of business activity and other statistics for establishments primarily engaged in the construction industries, classified in various tables according to SIC, and, to a lesser extent, type of construction. The files show time series data, including 1992 and 1987; and, in some instances, includes 1982 and 1977. The survey included all medium size and large employers and a sample of smaller ones. Selected key statistics are published together with their relative standard error, expressed as a percentage. See the discussion of "Reliability of employer statistics" in Methodology, file CC92.MTH. These data are exactly the same as shown in the printed Final Industry Series reports. A key to table numbers appears under the "Related Printed Reports" heading.
