INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT (SIC F5084)

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of industrial
machinery and equipment, not elsewhere classified.  Establishments primarily
engaged in the wholesale distribution of hydraulic and pneumatic valves,
connectors, assemblies, and filters are classified in Industry 5085. 
Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of over the
road trucks and tractors are classified in Industry 5012.  Establishments
primarily engaged in the installation and repair of elevators are classified
in Construction, Industry 1796.

SIC 5084 is subdivided in some tables into the following catagories-

1. Food-processing machinery and equipment.

2. General-purpose industrial machinery, equipment, and parts.

3. Metalworking machinery and equipment.

4. Materials handling equipment.

5. Oil well, oil refinery, and pipeline machinery, equipment, and
   supplies.

6. Other industrial machinery and equipment.  Establishments primarily
   engaged in selling special purpose industrial machinery not
   elsewhere classified, including printing machinery, paper and paper
   products machinery, smelting and metal refining machinery and
   equipment, cigar and cigarette machinery, and similar special
   industry machinery.


FOOD-PROCESSING MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of dairy
products manufacturing machinery, milk products manufacturing equipment,
bottling machinery and equipment, and other food-product manufacturing
machinery.


GENERAL-PURPOSE INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY, EQUIPMENT, AND PARTS

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of general-
purpose industrial machinery, equipment, and parts including hydraulic and
pneumatic pumps and motors and the parts for them.  Establishments primarily
engaged in the wholesale distribution of hydraulic and pneumatic valves,
connectors, assemblies, and filters are classified in Industry 5085.


METALWORKING MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of
metalworking machinery and equipment and machine tool accessories.


MATERIALS HANDLING EQUIPMENT

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of fork lift
trucks, industrial trucks and tractors, industrial cranes, derricks, hoists,
elevators, and other materials handling equipment.  Establishments primarily
engaged in the wholesale distribution of over the road trucks and tractors
are classified in Industry 5012.  Establishments primarily engaged in the
installation and repair of elevators are classified in Construction, Industry
1796.


OIL WELL, OIL REFINERY, AND PIPELINE MACHINERY, EQUIPMENT, AND
SUPPLIES

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of oil
refining and oil well machinery, equipment, and supplies.


OTHER INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of special
purpose industrial machinery not elsewhere classified, including 
smelting and metal refining machinery and equipment; pulp (wood)
manufacturing machinery; wood-working machinery; industrial sewing machines,
textile machinery and equipment; shoe manufacturing machinery; printing
trades machinery and equipment; paper and paper products machinery; cigar and
cigarette machinery; and similar special industry machinery.
