INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES (SIC F5085)

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of industrial
supplies, not elsewhere classified.  Establishments primarily engaged in the
wholesale distribution of fluid power pumps and motors and welding equipment
are classified in Industry 5084.  Establishments primarily engaged in the
wholesale distribution of welding gases are classified in Industry 5169. 
Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of containers
and supplies of paper, paperboard, or plastics are classified in Industry
5113.  Establishments primarily engaged in the marketing of construction sand
are classified in Industry 5032.

SIC 5085 is subdivided in some tables into the following catagories-

1. General-line industrial supplies.

2. Mechanical power transmission supplies.

3. Hydraulic and pneumatic (fluid-power) parts, accessories, and
   supplies.

4. Welding supplies.

5. Industrial containers and supplies.

6. Industrial valves and fittings, except fluid-power.

7. Other industrial supplies - Establishments primarily engaged in
   selling a specialty line of industrial materials and supplies not
   elsewhere classified, such as abrasives, mechanical rubber goods,
   ropes, cordage, and industrial diamonds.


GENERAL-LINE INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of a
combination or general line of industrial materials and supplies. 
Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of fluid power
pumps and motors and welding equipment are classified in Industry 5084. 
Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of welding
gases are classified in Industry 5169.  Establishments primarily engaged in
the wholesale distribution of containers and supplies of paper, paperboard,
or plastics are classified in Industry 5113.  Establishments primarily
engaged in the marketing of construction sand are classified in Industry
5032.


MECHANICAL POWER TRANSMISSION SUPPLIES

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of mechanical
power transmission equipment and supplies.  Establishments primarily engaged
in the wholesale distribution of transmission belts and belting are classified
in other industrial supplies.


HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC (FLUID-POWER) PARTS, ACCESSORIES, AND
SUPPLIES

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of hydraulic
and pneumatic (fluid-power) valves, cylinders, rotary actuators, connectors,
assemblies, filters, accessories, and parts thereof, excluding fluid power
pumps and motors.  Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale
distribution of fluid power pumps and motors are classified in Industry 5084.


WELDING SUPPLIES

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of gas-welding
supplies (excluding gases), arc welding supplies, and resistance-welding
supplies.  Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of
welding gases are classified in Industry 5169.  Establishments primarily
engaged in the wholesale distribution of welding equipment are classified in
Industry 5084.


INDUSTRIAL CONTAINERS AND SUPPLIES

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of industrial
containers and supplies.  Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale
distribution of containers and supplies of paper, paperboard, or plastics are
classified in Industry 5113.  


INDUSTRIAL VALVES AND FITTINGS, EXCEPT FLUID-POWER

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of industrial
valves and fittings, except plumbers, hydraulic, and pneumatic. 
Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of hydraulic
and pneumatic valves and fittings are classified in hydraulic and pneumatic
(fluid-power) parts, accessories, and supplies.  Establishments primarily
engaged in the wholesale distribution of plumbers valves and fittings are
classified in Industry 5074.


OTHER INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES 

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of  specialty
line industrial materials and supplies not elsewhere classified, such as
abrasives, mechanical rubber goods, ropes, cordage, and industrial diamonds. 
Establishments primarily engaged in the marketing of construction sand are
classified in Industry 5032.
