SCRAP AND WASTE MATERIALS (SIC F5093)

Establishments primarily engaged in assembling, breaking up, sorting, and
wholesale distribution of scrap and waste materials.  This industry includes
auto wreckers engaged in dismantling automobiles for scrap.  However, those
engaged in dismantling automobiles for the purpose of selling secondhand
parts at retail are classified in Industry 5015.

SIC 5093 is subdivided in some tables into the following catagories-

1. Iron and steel scrap processors and dealers.

   a. Iron and steel scrap processors (using power processing
      equipment).

   b. Iron and steel scrap dealers (not using power processing
      equipment).

2. Nonferrous recyclable materials
   
   a. Recyclable paper and paperboard.

   b. Other recyclable materials.

IRON AND STEEL SCRAP PROCESSORS AND DEALERS

Establishments primarily engaged in assembling, breaking up, sorting, and

wreckers engaged in dismantling automobiles for scrap.  However, those
engaged in dismantling automobiles for the purpose of selling secondhand
parts at retail are classified in Industry 5015.

Iron and steel scrap processors and dealers are subdivided in  some tables 
into the following catagories-

1. Iron and steel scrap processors (using power processing equipment).

2. Iron and steel scrap dealers (not using power processing equipment).


IRON AND STEEL SCRAP PROCESSORS (USING POWER PROCESSING EQUIPMENT)

Establishments primarily engaged in breaking up, sorting, and selling all
forms of scrap iron and steel using, cranes, hydraulic or motor shears,
baling equipment, cable strippers, etc. 


IRON AND STEEL SCRAP DEALERS (NOT USING POWER PROCESSING EQUIPMENT)

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of all forms
of scrap iron and steel, but do not operate power processing and preparation
equipment.


NONFERROUS RECYCLABLE MATERIALS

Establishments primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution of nonferrous
scrap, waste paper, wiping cloths, rags, textile waste, and other recyclable
materials.

Nonferrous recyclable materials are subdivided in some tables into the 
following catagories-

1. Recyclable paper and paperboard

2. Other recyclable materials

RECYCLABLE PAPER AND PAPERBOARD

Establishments primarily engaged in selling paper and paperboard scrap and
waste.

OTHER RECYCLABLE MATERIALS

Establishments primarily engaged in selling recyclable scrap and waste nonferrous
metals, textiles, glas, plastics, rubber, oil, etc.
