Notice The Bureau of the Census and the Bureau of Economic Analysis issued today the U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services, 1993 Annual Revision: Goods The 1993 unadjusted Census Basis goods data were revised to eliminate "carry-over" (that portion of the monthly statistics that arrives too late for inclusion in the transaction month) and to include errata (corrections to the published monthly data). Once these corrections were completed, factors for seasonal and working-day adjustments were recomputed, and the seasonally adjusted data were revised. Beginning with this issue of the FT-900, data for 1992 and 1993 include these changes. The new seasonal factors were also used to revise data for the first three months of 1994. Services The services estimates were revised to incorporate updated source data for 1992-93 and the first quarter of 1994. Revisions to most series were, for the most part, offsetting. Other private service receipts and other private service payments were both revised downward, based upon new annual survey data. New seasonal factors were applied to unadjusted data for 1992 and 1993, as well as for the first three months of 1994.
