ANNUAL 1994 REVISION

NOTICE:

With this release, the Bureau of the Census and the Bureau of the Economic
Analysis are publishing revised U.S. goods and services trade statistics 
for 1994.

Goods

The 1994 unadjusted Census Basis goods data was revised to eliminate 
"carry over" (that portion of the monthly statistics that arrives too late 
for inclusion in the transaction month) and to include errata (corrections 
to the published monthly data).  Once these corrections were completed, 
factors for seasonal and working-day adjustments were recomputed, and the 
seasonally adjusted data were revised for 1993 and 1994.  Data for 1992 
were revised to incorporate updated Balance of Payment adjustments.

Services

The services estimates were revised to incorporate updated source data and 
improved coverage of transactions for 1992-94 and the first quarter of 
1995.  Coverage was improved for the other transportation accounts and for 
the transfers under U.S. military sales contracts accounts.  Other accounts 
were revised based primarily upon new annual survey data.
