S. Customs Service. The major adjustments are to exclude military trade of the U.S. defense agencies (so as to avoid a double count in the U. S. balance of payments statistics), to include additional nonmonetary gold transactions not included in the Census Bureau export and import data, to include an estimate of inland freight in Canada and Mexico not in Census import data, and to account for differences between the seasonally adjusted and not seasonally adjusted annual values.
