Announcements Quality Profile The Bureau of the Census now has available the first in a series of reports addressing major issues affecting the U.S. international trade programs. Each report will provide data users with a better perspective on the quality and limitations of the foreign trade statistics. The first report, "The Merchandise Trade Statistics Program: A Quality Profile," summarizes significant questions or concerns relating to the import and export statistics on goods which have emerged over the last ten years. The report provides a discussion of the remedial or corrective actions taken and their results. The Foreign Trade Division will continue to study and report on outstanding issues in future quality profiles. Data users wishing a copy of the quality profile, may write or call the Trade Data Services Branch, Foreign Trade Division, Bureau of Census, Washington, D.C. 20233, (301)763-5140. There is no charge for the report. SOURCE: Report FT900 (CB-94-65), Bureau of the Census, Foreign Trade Division, MARCH 1994. For more information, contact Haydn R.
