With this release, the Bureau of the Census is publishing revised 
statistics for the U.S. Imports For Consumption of Steel Products 
(FT-900A) report.  The Foreign Trade Division, with assistance from 
the U.S. Customs Service, has discovered statistics improperly allocated 
to several countries.  The data has been retabulated to the proper country 
and presented in exhibits 5 and 5a of this report.  It should also be noted 
that only the individual country totals were affected, the grand totals for 
each period were not modified.  The revision period covers January-December 
1998 and January-June 1999.  For further information regarding the changes,
