This is a follow-up message regarding the Commodity Redesign 
implementation scheduled for June 8, 2004.  


The Automated Export System will experience a 78-hour outage during 
the cutover of the new requirements.  The outage will take place from 
12:01 AM EST June 5 to 06:00 AM EST June 8, 2004.  You will not be 
able to file shipments during the outage.   Please be advised that 
shipments sent during the outage will not be queued and will be 
rejected.  


With regards to licensable shipments, they can be filed up until 
4:00 PM EST on June 4, 2004.  For all other shipments please file by 
12:00 AM EST on June 5th.


You are strongly advised to begin testing the new requirements in 
the AES Education region. Do not delay, there are only 35 days 
remaining for testing.  


If you will not be ready for the June 8th implementation, please 
begin to explore another option for filing your export shipments 
such as filing through the Census Bureau Free Internet Application, 
AESDirect.  


Please be advised the Commodity Redesign entails format changes,
stricter validations and new filing requirements.  For the specific
details on the new programming requirements, retrieve the AES 
technical documentation from the Customs and Border Protection 
website at:
