My browser says that the download attempt failed. AOL is my service provider and I'm using the AOL browser (maybe the AOL version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE)) on a PC. How do I correct the problem?

The browser that comes with the PC version of the AOL software sometimes has problems with the Dropbox. The majority of problems that have been brought to our attention involve the fact that the user is running the AOL version MS Internet Explorer.

Our suggestion is to use the full version of MS Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator with AOL. Both are available free of charge from the home pages of each company.

To use another browser (Explorer or Navigator) with AOL:

    • Sign on to AOL
    • After you are connected, where you would normally start the AOL browser, start Explorer or Navigator. It's not accessible through any of the AOL menus, so you'll have to start it like any other application -- just be sure to keep the AOL software running otherwise you'll lose your connection to the Internet.

NOTE: These problems apply ONLY to the PC version of AOL. We have had no problems with MAC users downloading files through the DROPBOX using the MAC AOL browser.
