How do I get U.S. trade information on state exports?

State export data are available three ways:

  • Exhibits 2 and 2a of the FT900 press release supplement. The titles are "Origin of Movement of U.S. Exports of Goods by State by NAICS-Based Product Code Groupings, Not Seasonally Adjusted: Current Month and Cumulative to Date" and "U.S. Exports of Goods by State Where the Exporter is Located, by NAICS-Based Product Code Groupings, Not Seasonally Adjusted: Current Month and Cumulative to Date" respectively. You can access these exhibits from the current FT900 page.

  • Through our Data Dissemination Branch as a customized data request. All commodities are classified using 3-digit NAICS-based codes. All data can identify the countries to which the goods are being shipped as well as the state from which the goods left (either based on the location of the exporter, "exporter location", or where the goods actually started moving, "origin of movement").

  • With the WORLD TRADE ATLAS * U.S. State Export
    Edition CD-ROM
. State export data is available by 2-, 4-, and 6-digit HS codes, by country of destination and method of transportation (Origin of Movement series only). For software information or to place an order, call Global Trade Information Services (803) 763-1860 or contact the Data Dissemination Branch for a customized data request.
