What is an ECCN and how do I get one?

The Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) is issued by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) for shipments that require an export license. For questions about ECCNs and license codes, contact the BIS at (202) 482-4811 or (202) 482-2642.
