FAQ: Regulations:
Is AES the
reason behind why we exporters are starting to receive letters
from our sea carriers? Is it driving this informed/enforced
compliance we're hearing about?
NO. These letters are a result of the Informed/Enforced Outbound
compliance program. Although exporters are required to have
the SED filed with the carrier prior to exportation, it is the
carrier who is penalized if the freight departs without the
SED in their possession.
