June marks the first summer month of drought since it began in early January. With drought relief pending beyond October, weather dependent commodities, such as corn, may witness changes in export values from drought stricken regions of the country. Data provided by USA Trade Online can monitor such changes in commodity values.
The graph above depicts percent changes in export values for corn between 2011 and 2012 year to date data. Darker states indicate a greater percentage change in corn exports between 2011 and 2012.
