Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) Schedule

The Census Bureau is emailing an annual response letter to all federally recognized American Indian tribes with reservations or off-reservation trust land, governmental counties (and equivalent areas), incorporated places, consolidated cities, and governmental Minor Civil Divisions (MCDs) in December of 2014 and January of 2015.

All BAS respondents that wish to submit boundary changes, corrections, or feature updates must download materials from this web site and follow respondent guidelines.

The Census Bureau must receive responses to the 2015 BAS before March 1, 2015 to be included in the Population Estimates Program and the American Community Survey

DATE ACTIVITY
December 2014/January 2015 Annual response information is emailed to participants.
January 1, 2015 Annexations must be effective by this date in order to be submitted during the 2015 BAS.
January/February 2015 Non-Response email and telephone follow-up.
March 1, 2015 Boundary annexation information received by the Census Bureau by this date will be included in the Population Estimates Program and the American Community Survey.
March/April 2015 State Data Center non-response follow-up.
May 31, 2015 Boundary annexation information received by the Census Bureau by this date will be included in the 2016 BAS materials.
