Table Description

This table lists each minor civil division (MCD) name alphabetically within the state and provides the county name and congressional district that relate to each MCD. If an MCD relates to more than one congressional district, each district is listed, separated by a comma or a hyphen (e.g. 6-9 represents congressional districts 6, 7, 8 and 9).

Definition

County subdivisions in 18 states are legally defined and are referred to as minor civil divisions (MCDs). MCDs are the primary division of a county or county equivalent in these states and they represent many different kinds of legal entities such as towns or townships.
