A national place file is available for download. This file contains:

Pipe-delimited records for all places in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, including incorporated places and census designated places (CDPs).

Records for county subdivisions in the twelve states with minor civil divisions (MCDs) that serve as general-purpose local governments and perform the same governmental functions as incorporated places. These states are Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
