2002 TIGER/Line® Files
Seven Files Replaced in June 2003
Because of a unique situation in seven counties or statistically equivalent entities the Census Bureau inadvertently created two line segments with the same TIGER/Line ID (TLID) within the same TIGER/Line file. We have corrected the problem and regenerated these files. Replacement 2002 TIGER/Line files for these seven counties and statistically equivalent entities are available for download. The changes are described below.
Juneau Borough, Alaska (FIPS code 02110)
In the file released in January 2003 two line segments were identified with TLID 190983407. In the replacement file the line segment with a census feature class code (CFCC) of H01 that has a CENIDL of c1154 and POLYIDL of 1189 retains TLID 190983407. In the replacement file the line segment with a CFCC of H70 that has a CENIDL of c1154 and a POLYIDL of 1192 and a CENIDR of c1154 and POLYIDR of 1189 now has a TLID of 190983472.
Pierce County, Georgia (FIPS code 13229)
In the file released in January 2003 two line segments were identified with TLID 4602080. In the replacement file the line segment with a CFCC of F10 that has a CENIDL of c1994 and a POLYIDL of 43 retains TLID 4602080. In the replacement file the line segment with a CFCC of A41 that has a CENIDL of c1994 and a POLYIDL of 43 now has a TLID of 4602081. The duplicate TLIDs masked a problem with this detached polygon (identifed by a CENID of c1994 and a POLYID of 43) that appears in Pierce County, but actually belongs in Ware County. See the
Errata for the 2002 TIGER/Line files for more information.
