Some TSAP digital participants have experienced difficulty installing the extension from the Setup.exe file that’s included on the delivered project disc or enabling the extension once the extension has been installed. Problems related to installation are typically due to unmet system requirements.
Most installation issues are resolved by:
Participants using an ArcEditor license will need to contact the Census Bureau’s Regional Census Center to acquire a software update. (Contacts)
First, determine what “Build” your version of ArcMap is. This can be found after opening ArcMap by clicking on the Help pull-down menu and selecting the About ArcMap option. A window will appear detailing the software version and copyright information; in the upper right corner the Build number will be listed in parentheses. If the Build number is smaller than 1380 it will be necessary to update the ArcGIS Desktop Service Pack. The most recent Service Pack (Service Pack 6) may be downloaded and installed from ESRI’s support website: http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=downloads.patchesServicePacks.viewPatch&PID=15&MetaID=1409
The TSAP Extension requires Microsoft .NET Framework (version 2.0.50727 or higher) and the ArcGIS .NET Framework Support software. Participants can confirm .NET Framework installation by checking to see if the following directories are present on their hard drive:
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\DotNet
If these directories are not present, participants will need to install the correct version of .NET Framework and repair their ArcGIS installation to include .NET Support. The link below to ESRI’s Support website contains a complete explanation and remedy instructions for both .NET Framework and .NET Framework Support installation.
