2010 Annual Survey of Public Employment & Payroll –The Annual Survey of Public Employment & Payroll provides estimates for the employment of the nation's 90,000 state and local governments.  Data are shown for the number of state and local government civilian employees by government function and their gross payrolls for the month of March 2010. These data are available for the nation and individual states in viewable tables and downloadable files.

2010 Annual Survey of Public-Employee Retirement Systems: State-Administered Pensions – The Annual Survey of Public-Employee Retirement Systems: State-Administered Pensions provides revenues, expenditures, financial assets, membership information, and liabilities data on the defined benefit plans in the 222 public-employee retirement systems administered by state governments. Data are available at the national level and by state, as well as for individual retirement systems.

Finances of Selected State and Local Government Retirement Systems 3rd Quarter 2011 – Provides quarterly summary data on the assets, revenue, and expenditures of the largest public employee retirement systems. The information contained in this survey is the most current data about investment decisions by public employee retirement systems, one of the largest institutional investors in the U.S. financial market.
