Persons of Hispanic origin may be of any race. Files containing more detailed data on computer use are located in the FTP file area in the /population/socdemo directory. Filenames: comp1.txt & compwork.txt The data were collected in October 1993 in the Current Population Survey which is an ongoing monthly survey of approximately 55,000 households. The tables are consistent with Current Population Reports (CPR), Series P-23, No.171, Computer Use in the United States: 1989" and No. 155, "Computer Use in the United States: 1984." As with all sample surveys, the CPS estimates may different from the figure that would have been obtained if a complete census had been taken on the same date using the same schedules, instructions and eumerators. Approximate standard errors for these data are similar to those in Appendix B of CPR Series P-23, No. 171.
