About School Enrollment

School enrollment captures the population who report being enrolled in a regular school. A regular school advances a person towards an elementary school certificate, high school diploma, or college, university, or a professional school (such as law or medicine) degree.

The Census Bureau collects data on school enrollment in a number of different surveys and depending on your needs, one survey may be more suitable than another.

For more information about what data on school enrollment is available from each survey, visit the data section of this site.
