You have a thorough knowledge of the syntax, capabilities, and limitations of the Windows or Linux/UNIX operating systems, including knowledge of the interaction between production programs and the operating system. You have experience in monitoring system resource utilization to detect and solve problems that are about to occur. You have at least one year of experience with the installation and administration of Web and Application servers such as Microsoft IIS or BEA WebLogic. Your analytical approaches and results were very generally reviewed for technical and professional adequacy. Additionally, you have experience reviewing complex IT related data from multiple sources and determining relevant information; drafting, editing and disseminating written reports and status updates; maintaining relationships with customers with diverse needs; providing technical or complex information about products and services; assessing customers' needs and identifying or tailoring products and services to meet them; resolving complex or non-routine issues; explaining moderately complex ideas or information clearly; listening to others and recognizing potential miscommunications; and identifying and solving problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources.
You have at least one year of systems administration experience in a Windows or Linux/UNIX environment that included maintaining a DNS or NIS environment or installing or maintaining security software. You have at least one year of experience with the installation and administration of Web and Application servers such as Microsoft IIS or BEA WebLogic. In addition, you have a thorough knowledge of and experience with the Windows or Linux/UNIX operating systems, including the interaction between application programs and the operating system. You have experience in determining the source of system crashes and identifying solutions to recover from them. You have evaluated upgrades and systems changes based on resource allocation. You have a basic understanding of telecommunications and how it interfaces with system hardware and software. You have written complex shell scripts to perform automated system management tasks to assist in trouble-shooting system problems. Your assignments regularly included developing solutions to difficult problems that did not have readily available precedents. Your work was generally reviewed only for adherence to accepted standards.
