Student Career Experience Program - Mathematical Statistician

HOW TO APPLY

Co-op students who work as mathematical statisticians assist in:

  • Applying mathematical statistical theory, techniques, and methods to project-related activities.
  • Analyzing and evaluating the accuracy and validity of data.
  • Studying the practical application of relevant theory to problem areas.
  • Developing and applying measures/models to resolve problems.
  • Preparing technical documentation.

At least sophomore status. Major in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields (6 credits in Statistics required). Additional course work required in college level mathematics.

At time of graduation, candidates will need to have 24 semester hours in Mathematics and Statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours are in higher level mathematics courses and 6 semester hours are in statistics.
