3. Expansion of the projections to age 100+ for selected developed countries:
In order to better project countries with increasing numbers of people in the oldest ages, we have started converting our projections to be performed on data by single years of age up to 100 years and over. For this update, the following countries were updated:
France Germany Italy Japan Spain United Kingdom
4. New data and/or analysis. New data and/or analyses have been incorporated into the estimates and projections for the following countries or areas:
Argentina Bangladesh Bermuda Brazil Cayman Islands China Egypt India Iran Korea, North Korea, South Laos Marshall Islands Mongolia Philippines Puerto Rico Taiwan United States Vietnam
NOTE: The projection for the U.S. is provisional and is included to take into consideration the results of the 2000 census. It is based on the 2000 census, official post-census estimates, as well as vital registration data from the National Center for Health Statistics. The assumptions about the future are based on those used in the projections released in 2000 with some adjustments for consistency with new information.
