Download Rural/Urban Projection (RUP) Program and Documentation Files

Instructions for Downloading RUP (Version 1.42) software

The file RUPZIP.EXE is a self-extracting archive (ZIP), which contains the RUP, RUPAGG, and RUPMENU software and documentation files.

1. Transfer the RUPZIP.EXE file to your PC

You can RUP program to your PC by clicking here to tranfer the RUPZIP.EXE file (981,980 bytes). This will copy the RUPZIP.EXE to you hard drive. Your browser should prompt you for a filename and location. For best results, copy to an empty directory (e.g. C:\TEMP).

2. Run RUPZIP.EXE on your PC to prepare for installation

Suppose that you have placed RUPZIP.EXE in a subdirectory called C:\TEMP and want to install in the default directory, C:\RUPMENU. You can then extract the files in one of two ways:

a. From the Start menu, select Run..., then enter

     C:\TEMP\RUPZIP.EXE -d C:\RUPMENU
b. From a DOS (command prompt) window, switch to the directory and run the program to extract the files, e.g.:
       C:
       CD C:\TEMP
       RUPZIP -d C:\RUPMENU

3. Follow the instructions for further configuring RUPMENU in the RUPMENU documentation.

If the files are not installed in C:\RUPMENU, see page 24 of the RUPMENU documentation for instructions on editing the RUPB.BAT and RUPMENUB.BAT files to point to the location of the program files.
