2002 ECONOMIC CENSUS DVD-ROMS

Availability: Quarterly DVD-ROMs available on a subscription basis only (six discs in all) containing the full array of data from the 2002 Economic Census.  Data also available online in HTML or PDF format. PDF reports may also be purchased from the Customer Services Center as a print-on-demand product.

2002 Economic Census. Volume 1 Subscription (VS-E02-NAIS-17-US1; $300). The 2002 Economic Census Volume 1 Subscription contains PDF and database versions of data found in the 651 Industry Series reports. Disc 1A is the first release; subsequent discs will supersede previously released discs. More. 

• Volume 1, Disc A (V1-E02-NAIA-17-US1) contains PDF and database versions of data found in the 651 Industry Series reports from the 2002 Economic Census Released: May 24, 2005
• Volume 1, Disc B contains all data from Disc 1A plus Geographic Area Series data for additional Economic Census sectors and states and the 2003 Annual Survey of Manufactures Released: November 21, 2005
• Volume 1, Disc C contains all data from Disc 1B plus Geographic Area Series data for all Economic Census sectors, data from the Bridge Between 2002 NAICS and 1997 NAICS, Comparative Statistics, and 2002 Business Expenses reports Released: March 30, 2006
• Volume 1, Disc D contains all data from Disc 1C plus Product Lines Sales & Establishment and Firm Size data for selected Economic Census sectors, the 2002 Advance E-Commerce Statistics report, data from the Puerto Rico Geographic Area Series report, and data from the 2002 Survey of Business Owners  Released: Released September 11, 2006
• Volume 1, Disc E contains all data from Disc 1D plus Product Lines Sales & Establishment and Firm Size data for all Economic Census sectors, Miscellaneous Subjects data for selected Economic Census sectors, data from the Mining, Construction, & Manufacturing sector Summary reports, data from the 2003 Nonemployer Statistics report, and data from the remaining Puerto Rico Geographic Area Series reports
• Volume 1, Disc F contains all data from Disc 1E plus Miscellaneous Subjects data for all Economic Census sectors, Concentration Ratios data for Manufacturing sector, and Location of Manufacturing/Mining data

Subject content: Data vary by series. Generally the Economic Census collects data on establishments, number of employees, revenues, products or services, value of shipping, cost of materials, employment-size, and many other variables. For more details on individual series go to the Economic Census page.

Geography: Coverage varies by series. Generally, the Industry Series has data for the United States and selected states. The Geographic Area Series has data for the U.S., states, counties, and selected places. The ZIP Code Statistics DVD-ROM has data for five-digit ZIP Code areas.

File format: Files are stored in .mdb (Microsoft Access) format.
