According to the 2007 American Community Survey, 41.2 million people have some level of disability. They represent 15 percent of the civilian noninstitutionalized population 5 and older. Six percent of children 5 to 15 have disabilities, 12 percent of people 16 to 64 have disabilities, and 41 percent of adults 65 and older have disabilities.
