<![CDATA[<p><em>Population</em></p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/population/www/socdemo/hh-fam.html">America's Families and Living Arrangements: 2009</a>. The latest portrait of the American family, these tables provide insight into recent trends in household and family composition and living arrangements. Examines the effect that unemployment is having on families. Other information to be found in the tables includes the number of children living with two parents, the number of children living with grandparents, median age at first marriage, number of stay-at-home moms, and the number of mixed-race couples.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/prod/2010pubs/acs-11.pdf">Race and Hispanic Origin of the Foreign-Born Population in the United States: 2007</a>. [PDF; 462 KB] This report from American Community Survey data describes the race and Hispanic-origin composition of the foreign-born population in 2007 and compares it with that of the total and native-born populations. It shows the foreign-born have a pattern of race and Hispanic-origin reporting that is markedly different from the native population.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/population/www/socdemo/workathome.html">Home-Based Workers in the United States: 2005</a>. This set of tables describes the type of employment, occupations, earnings, work schedules, and other characteristics of those who work at home and compares them with the overall workforce and those workers who do not work at home. The data are from the 2005 Survey of Income and Program Participation. </p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/emergencies/index.html">Statistics on the Haitian Population</a>. The Census Bureau has numerous resources providing demographic and socioeconomic information on Haitians in the United States and in Haiti. The page has a link to an interactive map showing the geographic distribution of the population of Haiti, based on publicly available information and providing population and housing data for areas chosen by the user.</p>

Press release showing estimates of the value of total new construction put-in-place by type of construction (residential and non-residential), annual value, and by type of owner (private and public). </p>

<em>Economic Census and Surveys</em></p>

<p><a href="http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/EconSectorServlet?_lang=en&ds_name=EC0700A1&_SectorId=54&_ts=281619456129">2007 Economic Census: Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services Geographic Area Series</a>. This is a series of national-, state-, county-, place-, and metro area-level data files on the professional, scientific, and technical services sector (NAICS 54). These include data for industries such as legal services, accounting and tax preparation services, engineering and architectural services, and others. The files provide data on the number of establishments, revenue, payroll, number of employees, and other data items by industry.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/econ2007">2007 Economic Census and NotifyMe</a>. Data for states, counties and local areas are now being released from the 2007 Economic Census. Sign up to receive an automatic notification when data for your area are available with the bureau's new, free NotifyMe service.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/services/sas/data_summary54.html">2008 Service Annual Survey: Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services (NAICS 54)</a>. These tables provide revenue and expense data for legal, accounting, tax preparation, management consulting, interior design, graphic design, advertising, public relations, and other professional, scientific and technical services.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/services/sas/data_summary56.html">2008 Service Annual Survey: Administrative and Support and Waste Management and Remediation Services (NAICS 56)</a>. These tables provide expenses and revenues for remediation services, waste management, investigative services, landscapers, locksmiths, telemarketers and other administrative and support services.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/services/sas/data_summary53.html">2008 Service Annual Survey: Rental and Leasing Services (NAICS 53)</a>. These tables provide revenue and expense data on a wide variety of rental and leasing services, including data on passenger car and truck rentals, consumer electronics and appliances rentals, formal wear rentals, video tape and disc rentals, machinery and equipment rentals and rentals of other consumer and commercial goods. </p>

<em>Government</em></p>

<p><a href="http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www/releases/archives/governments/014566.html">Finances of Selected State and Local Government Employee Retirement Systems: 3rd Quarter 2009</a>. This quarterly survey provides national summary data on the revenues, expenditures and composition of assets of the 100 largest state and local government employee retirement systems in the United States.These data tables are published four months after each calendar quarter and show national financial transactions and trends for the past five years.  </p>

<![CDATA[<p><em>Population</em></p>

<p><strong>Economic Characteristics of Households in the United States: Third Quarter 2008</strong>. Examines the roles of government-sponsored benefit programs and the labor market in helping people cope with the recession. Specifically, it presents data on average monthly income, participation in government-sponsored social welfare or insurance programs and labor force activity during the period. The data are from the 2008 Survey of Income and Program Participation.</p>

<p><strong>U.S. Population Projections by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin: 2010-2050</strong>. Set of four different national projections by these characteristics, each based on a different assumption about the level of net international migration. Supplements the national projections series released last year.</p>

<p><strong>Voting and Registration in the Election of November 2008</strong>.  Report examines levels of voting and registration in the most recent presidential election, the characteristics of citizens who reported either registering or voting in the election and the reasons why some registered individuals did not vote. The data are based on the November 2008 Current Population Survey. </p>

<p><strong>Manufacturers' Shipments, Inventories, and Orders: December 2009</strong>. Press release showing information on key business indicators. Shows revised durable goods totals, in addition to nondurable goods manufacturers' shipments, inventories, and orders. Scheduled for release February 4, 2010. </p>

<p><strong>Monthly Wholesale Trade: Sales and Inventories: December 2009</strong>. Press release showing estimates for sales, inventories on a non-LIFO ("last in-first out") basis, and stock-sales ratios for merchant wholesalers by three-digit major kind-of-business groups. Scheduled for release February 9, 2010. </p>

<p><strong>U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services: December 2009</strong>. Press release showing monthly exports, general imports (including data by country), and limited data on imports for consumption. Scheduled for release February 10, 2010. <br />

<strong>Advance Monthly Sales for Retail and Food Services: January 2010</strong>. Press release presenting advance monthly estimates of retail store sales by kind-of-business groups. Report includes seasonally adjusted estimates and percentage changes for major kind-of-business groups. Scheduled for release February 11, 2010.<br />

<strong>Manufacturing and Trade: Inventories and Sales: December 2010</strong>. Press release showing sales, inventories, and inventories-to-sales ratios for the combined domestic activities of retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers. Scheduled for release February 11, 2010. </p>

<em>Economic Census and Surveys</em></p>

<p><strong>Commodity Flow Survey: 2007</strong>. This survey produces data on the movement of goods in the United States by value, weight, average miles per shipment, mode of transportation and type of commodity shipped for manufacturing, mining, wholesale and select retail establishments. A separate report contains data on hazardous material shipments by hazard class, mode of transportation, states of origin and other characteristics. This survey is part of the 2007 Economic Census. Previous data were collected in 2002. </p>

<p><strong>2008 Annual Capital Expenditures Survey</strong>. These data provide preliminary estimates of business spending for new and used structures and equipment at the sector level based on the 2002 North American Industry Classification System. These figures are critical to evaluate productivity growth, the ability of U.S. business to compete with foreign business, changes in industrial capacity and measures of overall economic performance. </p>

<p><strong>2008 Annual Survey of State and Locally Administered Public Employee Retirement Systems</strong>. This survey provides revenues, expenditures, financial assets and membership information for public employee retirement systems that are defined benefit plan pensions. Data are shown for individual retirement systems as well as at the national, state and local government level. This survey provides current data about investment decisions by state and local government employee retirement systems, which are among the largest types of institutional investors in the U.S. financial markets. </p>
