CENSUS 2000 PROFILES OF GENERAL DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS: STATE PACKAGES

Subject content: The Profiles of General Demographic Characteristics contain the 100-percent data compiled from the Census 2000 questions asked of all people and about every housing unit. Population items include population, sex, age, race, Hispanic or Latino, household relationship, household type and group quarters; housing items include occupancy, housing tenure, and average household size of owner-occupied/renter-occupied units. The profiles include a total of 71 population and 25 housing data.

There is a standard one-page profile for the following areas (over 40,000 in all): U.S., states, counties, county subdivisions, places, consolidated cities, metropolitan statistical areas (state part), consolidated metropolitan statistical areas (state part), primary metropolitan statistical areas (state part), congressional districts, American Indian Areas, Alaska Native Areas, and Hawaiian Home Lands. Users ordering a print-on-demand state package get the profiles for all areas with the state. The U.S. Profile comes with each state package.

File format & software: Portable Document Format (.PDF). Files also available in ASCII at the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site.

Geography: Separate profiles for each of the areas identified above.
