Geographic coverage: Data are available for each State.

State Data: To be release in two files: an A and B file, The A file has simpler tabulations of the data items covered in the census; they are tables 1-45 in the printed reports. The B file has more detailed tabulations - generally a summary of data items cross-tabulated by one in particular (for example, "Summary by Size of Farm," table 49). These comprise tables 46-52 and are far more detailed than the first 45 tables.

Subject content Data are presented for all farms. (A farm is any place from with $1,000 or more of agricultural products were sold, or normally would have been sold, during the census year) Data include number of farms; land in farms; size of farms; value of land, buildings, value of machinery and equipment; characteristics of operator; selected production expenses; total cropland; irrigation of farm land; value of agricultural products sold; inventory and sale of livestock and poultry; and major crops harvested.

Special Tabulations: Custom designed tabulations can be developed to individual user specifications on a programming cost reimbursable basis. Inquiries about special tabulations should be directed to the Census Division, National Agricultural Statistical Service 1-800-523-3215.
