Here we see an example of a Reference Map prepared with the Census Bureau’s online data retrieval and mapping tool: American FactFinder. You’ll note here how the census tract labeled 8001.07 is bounded by the auburn boundary. In this map, as opposed to the earlier County Block Map example, the census tract numbers do display all 4 primary digits. Inside the tract, there are the four-digit block numbers in yellow and you can also see the block groups outlined in the peach boundaries and labeled with single-digits.
