Youth Mental Health and Drug Abuse, Peter Delany, director, SAMHSA

Peter Delany, director of the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality at SAMHSA, discusses the results from the 2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. In 2011, America's youth, ages 12 to 17, continued to report substantial rates of major depressive episodes. Among those who suffered from mental illness, co-occuring substance use and dependence were common.

Biography: Rear Admiral Peter Delany is the Director of the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
