Who's Black in America? Live on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" "America By the Numbers" Segment

The size of the U.S. black population was 44 million as of July 1, 2011. Find out more on Friday, July 6, at approximately 8:30 a.m. EDT as Nicholas Jones, chief of the Racial Statistics Branch at the U.S. Census Bureau, discusses statistics about the black population. Each Friday, C-SPAN's "America By the Numbers" segment features information from the federal statistical system.
